Gololobova’s presentation was very well delivered, her play was passionate. Her interpretation of Julian Cochran’s Sonata no. 1 was extraordinary! Gololobova is not only a great pianist but above all a great musician.

Biography
Svetlana Gololobova (Светлана Гололобова)

A superb Ukrainian pianist of the younger generation. As the winner of the Grand Prix of the International Cochran Piano Competition 2015, she enchanted the jury with her musical interpretations, outstanding in their passion and temperament. The artist is also a laureate of the International George Georgescu Contest for Performing Artists in Tulcea, Romania (2nd Prize, 2002), Art Premium International Competition-­Festival of Arts in Kyiv, Ukraine (3rd Prize, 2011), International Independent Competition of Pianists and Opera Singers in Moscow, Russia (2012) and the Internet Music Competition in Belgrade, Serbia (1st Prize, 2013).

Svetlana completed her studies at the Tchaikovsky National Musical Academy of Ukraine in Kyiv, working with assistant professor Sergei Ryabov. Since 2011, she has continued her education as a doctoral student at the NMAU Department of History and Theory of Performance Arts.

As part of the main prize in the International Cochran Piano Competition 2015, Svetlana Gololobova recorded her debut solo CD album “Svetlana Gololobova. Piano Virtuoso” at the Polish Radio’s Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio in Warsaw. The album, which contains pieces by Julian Cochran and virtuoso piano transcriptions of P. Tchaikovsky and J.S. Bach, was released in October 2016 – and was followed by an international concert tour.
